Bias in Tech: Using Data to Advance DEIB
Historically excluded people of color and all women are at significant risk of facing bias in the workplace. The Tech Leavers study highlights many of these biases, which drive top talent out of the tech industry. This session will address how participants can draw on data to advance DEIB throughout their organization, and will include how to:
- Analyze research studies to understand credibility of the methodology, analysis, and discussion
- Identify knowledge gaps within your own organization and determine meaningful ways to collect the data to fill those gaps
- Determine when it may be productive to compare your organization’s data to industry data
- Use data to persuade colleagues and leaders about the benefits of DEIB efforts
